Dating Disaster: The Bear-Dog

button

My dating disaster comes from only a year ago. I met him in the hospital, but he seemed like a nice guy so I decided to give him a chance. The first red flag should have been when he asked me to take a bus 30 minutes to see him, but I figured I wanted to go shopping in that side of the city anyway so I'd just make it a big trip.

I showed up at his apartment, a disgusting mess by the way, and was greeted by a huge furry dog. This dog jumped all over me, and knocked me over. I picked myself up and mentioned that I'm allergic to dogs, besides the fact that I also wasn't okay with some random dog attacking me at the front door. He didn't bother to do anything about it, instead telling me to sit on the couch. I sat between two huge stains, and asked him what restaurant we were going to. He then told me he was too broke to go out and that he just wanted to watch the hockey game.

I love hockey, I really do. But do I want to watch it with some random and his dog in a smelly apartment? I don't think so.

I watched it with him for about five minutes before I said I was going to go. I told him it wasn't working out and that I wasn't interested. His response? He leaned over, wrapped his arms around me, and tried to kiss me. I stood up as fast as I possibly could, and of course the dog was all over me. I walked to the door and told him I was going to the bus terminal now. He said he would walk me back, and in my stupidity I agreed to let him.

He decided to take the bear-dog with him as he walked me the twenty minutes to the bus terminal. The sidewalk wasn't big enough for all three of us, and I kept getting wrapped up by the dog's leash. About halfway there, the dog stopped to do it's business on the grass. I think the worst part about this date was that he just decided to leave it there. I asked if he was going to pick it up, and he shrugged and said "I like ruining people's day when they step in dog shit". I kid you not!

I speed-walked to the terminal. I kind of waved good-bye to him and went to get on the bus. He grabbed him hand and pulled me in to kiss him again. I pushed him away, again, and ran onto the bus. Ugh, so gross.

And then for the next 3 months he texted me 15 times a day (at least) and called me at random times in the day. He only stopped when I called my cell carrier and had his phone blocked. Never again!

I feel kind of sorry for the dog - he lives with this guy! Maybe he jumped at you because he is desperate to escape, haha.
